Lanvood made his first bowling appearance ;it Trent Bridge' against Somerset. • He and Voce dismissed half Somerset for 12 runs. . • ■:
Larwood demonstrated that his foot trouble has completely disappeared. He took four wickets for 31 runs, and Voce three for 39.
'. Critics, however, are divided in their opinions about Larwood. Quite a number contend that lie has not his old pace, although his action is faultless. "Keynolds's News" states that the wicket was all against him. He took his usual nine-teen paces run, and his terrific follow-through, which throws all the weight on to the damaged left foot, was in full use. He had not his old pace because lie needs time to get right back to form. Likewise, ho wants a, firmer, foothold, yet at times he was unplayable.
