The Island Bay-Berhampore Branch of the League of Mothers met in the Masoiiie Hall recently,' when. .Mrs. Hindmarsh presided over a large attendance of members and friends. • A special weleoine was extended to members from the Hataitai, Lower Hntt, and Khandallah branehos.-.-■;.An induction service was held, when seven members were received into full membership and one received by - transfer from the Brooklyn Branch. Members were told that, a wreath had been placed, on their behalf, on tho memorial at the school Anzae service, and that a special service would be held on "Mother's Day." Tscxt month there : will bo a ''Members' Day," and a cqmmittoo was;nonuuatea to make arvangemeuts for it. , The soloist (Mrs. Ayrton) rendered two items, which were greatly appreciMiss liorimov, the speaker f or_ the -I afternoon, gave a very helpful address on "Keeping Children . Lovable," saying that two of the most important characteristics for this were to make them obedient, and to have respect tor other people and other people's property. She-also spoke on a few of tho problems of the "Post-war Girl." The members accorded' her a hearty vote of thanks. . • . V The inecting closed with the singing of the National Anthem. Then afternoon tea was dispensed and a- social time enjoyed.
