'. (By Telegraph—Press Association.) AUCKLAND,. This Day. "With the exception of, a shower of rain the weather was fine, though dull, for training work at Ellerslie this morning. The course proper, with the poles 40 feet out, was ayailable, and ■ the going was first-rate. - On the course proper Imamint (Clarke) reeled off a smart five furlongs in. lmin 3 3-ssee, and was running on well at the finish. Curie was going better than Melisande at the conclusion of a mile, coy- • ered in lmin 45sec. The first-half was > done in 52 l-ssec. He did the work impressively. I Sunny Sky and Karangapai were companions over seven furlongs. The first half was done in 50 4-ssec, and the : distance was completed in 1min..33 2-5 sec. Sunny Sky was going best at the ' finish. > Coronilla sprinted- from the six to 1 the three furlongs posts ia 37 3-ssec. ; Thespis and Timorous ran six fur- ■ longs in lmin 18 2-ssec. It was a good • gallop, both horses working well. Timorous finished better than usual. ■ 1 Capris covered five furlongs in lmin ; 4sec. Yelociter joined in between the ' four and three furlongs posts, but Cap- \ ris was pleasing better at tho finish. Lady Spy sprinted down the straight, hitting out very -freely. She looks in first-rate condition. Senior and "Werohia led' Courthaven . after traversing six furlongs in lmin 20 ■ sec. . : ■ ' Master Brierly, Epigram, and Ornamental (Kelly) were associated over a
mile, tlio first four furlongs being covered in 50 2-ssec, and the-full distance in Imin-.42 3-osec. Master Brierly, who had the worst of the weights, impressed most, though Epigram was right up with him. . . >,
Lordly Knight went a mile in Imin. 45 4 ssee, the last seven furlongs being done, in imin 30 2-ssec, but was stopping at the-finish. "'.■■■■ .
Kiltowyn jumped off from the sevenfurlong post, running the first two furlongs, in 24 l-ssee, four in 49sec, and completing the gallop in liuip. 30sec. It was a brilliant effort, and will; gain him additional friends / for the. Easter Handicap.
Cape Eair,- Morbury, and Palm Queen have'been' scratched for all engagements at Auckland.
