PERTH, March 24. The weather was ideal when the Aus-tralia-West Australia cricket match was resumed. It was a batsman's wicket, but the Australian fowling improved overnight, and the West Australians were quickly dismissed for 305. Taafe (79), K. Bryant (45), Lovelock (42), and Francis (22) were the principal contributors. Grimmett. took five wickets for 99, Ebeling three for 80, and O'Reilly two for 60. . "Woodf ull and Ponsford opened foi Australia. The latter was brilliant, scoring four fours in the first four overs, but was caught at 39 after batting 43 minutes and sioring six fours in all. Woodfull. played carefully, but was bowled'by Halcombe, West Australia's fastest bowler, after scoring 45 in 80 minutes. He hit; three fours. Darling was twice missed, but succumbed to a. third chance after batting stylishly. He made 47. Bromley, the young West Australian, was nervous facing the home audience, but soon settled down, and as the result of familiarity with the bowlers quickly rattled on 59. With Kippax, who scored a sprightly 38, he played! out time, the score being 237 for three wickets at stumps. ; ! The gate takings amounted to £957.1
