In all respects this was the best of the morning. \. ; 'Great Star went a mile, being joined by Grand Review. He was timed to go his la6t 6even furlongs in lmin. 29 4-ssee, thelast three :> in 40sec. The mare was of no use to him and he finished-well clear, practically pulling up. He is quickly coming iip to his old form, by all appearances, and he-will feel the lack of a race less than most horses would. Croupier; iwith his trainer up, ran five furlongs,, the first two in. 24 l-ssec/and the last three in 36 2-osee, making the excellent time, of lmin 0 3-ssec, and he pulled up well. On.,the-plough, Cranford strode over an easy_ five furlongs in lmin 7 4-ssee. Arpentic' coveredan easy six furlongs, taking Imin 20sec. Irish Lancer pleased'over the fffme distance, running lmin IS 4-ssec, after reaching the; half-way peg in 39 -1-aiec. •■ . . -...'■■".
