Cox, with Golden Hair, and J. Brown, with Carfex, are booked to leave by Wednesday night's train for Ellerslie. Round Table is unlikely to make the trip. J. Fryer has Copey and the two-year-old Eadiant Star entered in the north, and he will also leave on.Wednesday if the trip is decided on. ' :. Carfex is 'in great shape—in fact Mr. Hicks's horse never looked better. He has been galloping and sprinting in fine style. Golden Hair returned in splendid condition after his Thompson Handicap win, and has been exercising steadily sincei, It is generally supposed that her mission on the first day will be the Great Northern Oaks. Round Table appears to have lightened up a bit as a result of his trip to Trentham. ; Silver Wings demonstrated her usefulness by winning at Awapuui, and the experience should further .improve her. A patient policy has been adopted •with this filly, who is a nice mover and who should prove useful.
