INSTITUTE AND HUTT

Maintaining their grip on the match with Hutt at the Hutt Recreation Ground, Institute Old Boys were able to record their second win of the sfeason. . On the previous Saturday Hutt, in reply to Institute's 266, had started none too well, and there was no appreciable improvement with the progress of1 play on Saturday. A good attack was maintained by Institute's bowlers, and more wickets fell cheaply. Towards, the close of the Hutt innings HeLeod, Ross, Muir, and Fowler got amongst the runs and made acceptable contributions to the score; though the combined efforts did not produce enough to avoid a follow-on. Batting a second lime, Hutt again encountered trouble, but Dalglish came to light with a surprisingly good batting effort, and he practically monopolised the scoring so far as it went. A score of 72 by Dalglish included twelve 4's. Ross also did well before play ended his hits including a6. When play ceased at about 6 o'clock, Hutt had made 116 for the loss of five wickets. Bilby gained excellent bowling figures in each innings, others also getting a wicket or two. Details:— : INSTITUTE. . First innings 266 HUTT. First Innings. .
