RECENT TRAIN DISASTER

MOSCOW, March 22. The driver of the train in the recent disaster and the stationmaster at Tavatui wero sentenced to death, and seven others to terms of imprisonment.

A passenger train ran into a shunting freight train at Tavatui. Thirtythree were killed and 68 injured. The driver and fireman of a suburban train involved in a previous serious railway smash were sentenced to be shot. Other officials were sentenced to various terms of imprisonment.
