The final meeting of the Wellington, season will be that to take, place' at the Basin Reserve on Monday evening. A number of Wellington athletes, however, will not be putting away their gear until after the Motueka Club's Easter meeting. Those making the trip ■to Motueka are as follows:—A. Welply, K. Coombes, C. and W. A. Brown, G. Flighty, J. McConchie, C. Chalk, J. Blakeway, L. Sowerby, and C. Flett, and Misses E. and J. Sharp, D. and I. Hurley, E. Gollop, R. Hunter, J. Simpson, R. Flan, L. Oughton, and J. Wilson. A. M. Atton.
There will bo some notable performers in action in the athletic section at the inter-university tournament at Christchurch at Easter. Athletes who represented their provinces at the New Zealand Championships at Wellington will be among those taking part, and there should be some excellent performances.
While on a visit recently, M. Furlong, of the Kiwi Club, Wellington, competed at a meeting in Auckland, and in each of the two sprint races was placed second.
Outstanding features of the Auckland . Club championships recently wero the lone runs' of j. W. Savidan in the one and two miles races, and the successful reappearance of A. J. Elliot in the sprint championships. Savidan, it is reported, made a gallant attempt at the Now Zealand two miles record, but, running by himself, he had no chance on a track which gave him no assistance whatever. His time was 9min 38sec, whereas R. A. Rose's New Zealand record is 9min 20 l-ssec. Elliot's meeting with Hampson at Auckland should b& full of interest.
