PRICE-CUTTING EVIL
EFFECT IN PRINTING TRADE
PLEA FOR CO-OPERATION
Addressing the annual conference of the Federation of Master Printers which was held from March 20 to 23, the president, Mr. A. Dennison (Auckland) said that owing to the difficulty of the times the'volume of customers' requirements had fallen considerably and the printing industry had become involved in an era of unprecedented price-cutting, despite the obvious fact that the debased prices did not promote increased requirements. Only by determined action of men resolved to see that a just reward was obtained in return for the use of brains, labour, and capital were economic prices likely to return.
Ho appealed to the printing industry to display more of the team spirit and to co-operate more closely in matters of mutual interest. ■-■.:-■■"- ■ • •'
