WELLINGTON CENTRE
The work of the Wellington Centre of the Red Cross Society during the past year was reviewed by the chairman, Mr. H. Rose, at the annual meeting, held yesterday. Mr. Rose paid a tribute to the efficient and loyal services rendered by Captain M. S. Galloway and the stafF. He also alluded to the valuable work done by the various honorary officers. Votes of thanks were passed to all 'those who had assisted the'organisation during the past twelve months. The chairman mentioned that the bal-ance-sheet showed an improvement in one respect. The consolidated stock account, which was the barometer of the society's financial position, indicated that there had been a reduction in expenditure. He alluded to the self-sacrificing duties carried out by the visiting members to the ex-ser-vicemen at the Porirna Mental Hospital. The election of officers resulted as follows:—Chairman, Mr. H.
