Sir,—You are rarely asked to find space for facts o£ the- following:—The fifteen numbers of "Hansard" of the last session of Parliament reach a" length of 939 yds 2ft,Shi, and-in line would reach from Parliament House to Lower Hutt, and' the approximate words contained therein are 3,654,288. ■ Any reader1 curious to learn the probable cost of those'millions of words can easily make the, calculation himself.' The words will teli' him based on three halfpence per' word. It makes, quite a formidable sum: A cheque'for. a perc ent, of it would gladden the heart ofrour worthy Mayor if sent to him for his' un-" employment fund.
