Hia promising two-year-old colt Glimmer bled again in his race at Bandwick on Saturday'when soundly supported. This is the second occasion, and it appears little uso going on with him at the present. Bleeding "in two-year-olds is not at all common, and it does hot augur well for the future of the colt. P. Kiddle was confident that Satmoth would win the January Handicap and follow up with success in the Anniversary. Handicap. The ex-trotting and pacing trainer was quite correct in his summing-up for the' first leg of tho double, for Satmoth, although set a big task by D. Munro, duly scored. Ho is in bettor order now than at any previous stage of his career. The luck of racing was shown once again at Eandwick last Saturday. After sprinting in the morning, Buonarroti, a smart three-year-old colt, was so laino that W. Kelso- almost decided to withdraw him. Later he sent his colt to the course, and when going to tho post J. Pratt, the rider, was in two minds, whether he should go on or bring his mount back •lo the birdcage. In tho actual race Buonarroti was first out and led all tho way. Taken to' Kensington on Wednesday, ho carried 9.4 and gave 271b, 261b, 381b to three four-yoar-olds and beat them with ease. J. T. Jamieson received six fresh horses from Auckland on Tuesday, so that with several yearlings also from New Zealand he will have a big string of horses. His colt Nipper is still in Melbourne, and, backed to favouritism, at Caulfield last Saturday, was left at the post. ' - , . This was the indirect cause of Ashley Beed's receiving throe months' suspension. At the inquiry Beed queried a statement made by the starter, Mr. Eupert Greene, who said Nipper was in line at the time of. barrier-rise. Eeed, according to reports, said, this Was untrue, and, being adjudged guilty of insulting behaviour to an official,.was severely punished. The , case has aroused, a good deal .of comment in Melbourne. . ■ A twO-year-old above' the ' average has been discovered in the gelding Bombus. It is unfortunate for .his ownertrainer, Bailoy ,Payten, that Bombus is unsexed, for he is thus rendered ineligible for all the best two and three-year; old races. At Eandwick on: Saturday he.rah right off the course/ yet defeated the Limond colt Theo and a useful field very decisively. • Havaspot registered one of his inevitable seconds at Kensington on Wednesday carrying top-weight (9.10) in a good mile .welter field. But for being hampered just at the-finish he would probably have won. -4. Young and McOarten had their consolation later in the day when Makalu won the two-ycar-old event.- Makalu,, who led all the way, is a Highfjeld filly owned by Captain O. J. Chisholm, of the wellknown blood-stock salesmen family. SUSPENSION OF JOCKEY v " (By Telegraph.—Press Association) WAIBOA, This Day. After the running. of the President's Handicap at the Wairoa Meeting on Saturday an. inquiry was -held into alleged interference with Little Wonder in the straight. As a result; Harold Young, ythc rider' of the winner ((Jainsfid), was suspended for two months, but the placings were not altered, Gainsfied being left „ tho : winner and Little Wonder second. petone police Station
