The; Bank o£ New Zealand, produce department, has received' the following advice from its London office as at close of business this .week:—The market for wethers is firm, and moderate business ha*, been done. > The demand for ewes is moderate.,but prices are.firm. There is a fair demand,for Jambs, but the .market is not quite' bo firM. . .There is a good demand for beef. Unfavourable weather is affecting trade. Quotations:-—Wethers, light,'sHd'.to 6d per lb; heavy, 4%d to sY*d; ewes, 3%d to i%d; lambs, 2's, 7%d to 7%d; B's, 7 3-8 d to 7 5-8 d; 4's, 7%d to 7%d; seconds, 6%d to 7d; ox hinds, 2%d to 3d; fores,: 17-8 d to 2 l-Bd.
, Levin. and Go., Ltd., has received the following .'cable from it*1 London agents, dated January 26:—"Frozen nieat_ quotations are .unaltered,, but mutton prices are more or less nominal owing short supply, especially; wethers.'- *
