VISIT TO DUNEDIN

(By Telegraph.—Press. Association.) ; DUNEDIN, This Day. The Prime Minister (the Rt. Hon. G. W. Forbes) this morning visited a num--ber of factories, and was afterwards entertained at lunch by the Manufacturers' Association. This afternoon he is to receive a deputation from , the unemployed. He is later, to, visit the R.SJV. Club. There will be a civic welcome this evening. He is to. leave for the north tomorrow morning. On his way from Invercargill he visited tho woollen mills at Milton and Mosgiel and jcement works at Burnside. He was entertained at luncheon by the local bodies at Milton, whero he was given a cordial reception. Replying to a deputation from the Otago Expansion, League and the Otago Motor Club last night, the Prime Minister promised to-refer the question of the completion of the'Makarora Road through Haast Pass to South Westland to the Minister of Public Works (the Hon. J. Bitchener) for consideration.^ A promise to discuss with the Minister of Health (the Hon. J. A. Young) the. possibility of the erection of a new ' maternity hospital was given by the Prime Minister to a deputation from, the Otago University Council arid the Otago Hospital Board. Mr. Forbes said the deputation had made out a Btrong case, and was entitled to finality on tho subject.
