Perry dominated play in his doubles match, some of his services and drives in the first two sets being untouchable. His net play was also brilliant,'and, in fact, his all-round play was far superior to anything he has shown in Sydney previously. In the'third set the Australians, who thus far had been musing badly, played excellently. There was a great struggle in the last set, the having five set points before winning.

Quist and Turnbull unexpectedly downed Crawford and Hopman. The match was evenly contested throughout. Crawford was not in his best form. The winners teamed perfectly, and Quist was very deadly overhead. Miss Harligan's strong ; forehand drivo was a match-winning factor in her doubles with Miss Valkcnburg. Miss Bickerton played best for the losers. The Qucenslanders, Mcsdames Westacott and Molesworth, were too powerful for their Victorian opponents.
