DANNEVIRKE JUBILEE SHOW.
The pig is destined to play a larger part in the farming industry- of the Dominion in the! future. The Danhevirke A. and P. Association, for its jubilee show on February 13 and 14, has made important additions in the classes for this section. No pigs will be permitted to be shown in the pedigree classes unless the animals are registered in the New Zealand Pig Breeders' Association' herd took or are eligible for registration. The ManawatuOroua brapch of the New Zealand Pig Breeders' Association offers two silver trophies for most points in the Tamworth ancl Berkshire sections. Exhibits must be registered purebreds. There are purebred classes for Berkshires, Tamworths, Large Whites, Large Blacks; also district classes for these breeds. " ' .
In the dairy produce classes, of which there are eight, entries in all are limited to _ one from each competitor. Entries in this section have increased year by year, and in addition :to the Dannevirke and District Challenge Cup for export butter, the Taniaki Dairy Co.'s Challenge Cup for export cheese, and Mr. James Armstrong's Challenge Cup to the winner of the class for one crate of large coloured, cheese, a gold medal will be awarded to the competitor grading most points for one export cheese, one export coloured cheese, two loaf cheese, and one crate of cheese from the grading store.
General entries close on Tuesday, January 30; but this does not apply to the cookery section i«f the home industries, which are post entry. Information can be had from the Dannevirke secretaries, care of P.O. Box 38, or Mr. G: Keg., Cook, Waipukurau.
