In an unpaced swim of 440 yards toMjgJrt, Noel Crump, intermediate champion of New Zealand, registered sniin 14 4-seec, thus bettering his own Dominion record by twelve seconds. The time was but 1 2-ssec slower than the national senior record held by another Aueklander, G. Bridson-. Btifw Sylvia Grange made an unsuccessful attempt to lower Miss Ena Stockley*s senior women's Tecord for fifty yatds, 28 2-ssee. Her time was 29 3-ssec.
The Eastbourne Borbugfr Council has decided th«t Wednesdaynhall be the statutory WlPboßday in the borough this year.
