DUBLIN, January 23

Mr. S. F. Lemass (Minister of Industries and Commerce), outlining tho Government's industrial programme for 1934, said that it was hoped that within a year the country's full requirements oti cotton piccegoods would be woven from yarn spun' in the Frco State.

It was hoped to re-establish the gla^s industry at Waterford, also tho manufacture of pottery, cutlery, and rubber goods elsewhere. They also contemplated the experimental production of alcohol from potatoes, and Hie establishment of refineries for the extraction of petrol and other products from crude oil, thus securing independence from foreign fuel sources.
