POWER FOR PEACE

(To,th« Editor.)

Sir, —I feel that I cannot let the article "Power for Peace," which appeared in Wednesday evening's issue, pass without comment. It has been in my mind, and evidently other persons too, that women should, endeavour to do something to create world peace,' The bottom seems to be falling cut of'th? Disarmament Conference; Let- the women come to the fore again. Seeing that they are in the majority—if, and when, war is pending,, why not let the women vote for or against war? Even if men's votes were ; included there is no doubt whatever of the verdict. If every country were to do the same I feel sure there would be peace and goodwill on earth once again. It is always the woman who pays for a war, by the loss of husband and sons. Is there any encouragement for women to have families? When their sons reach the age of eighteen years there may be a war on and they will have to be sacrificed, for what?—l am, etc., YOURS FOR PEACE.
