SHIPPING POLICY

(To the Editor.)

Sir,—"Captain' Cook" is to be congratulated on his attempt to focus public attention upou the highly important question' of the shipping trade between Australia aud New Zealand. The angle taken by "Commercial Anzac" in replying to "Captain Cook" is interesting but, it makes one wonder what would happen if Americans going from New York to England refused to travel by such liners as the Mauretania, Majestic, Berengaria, etc This shipping subject should not be taken lightly as it has a definite bearing on the progress or otherwise of a country that is' already too far behind in its attempts to emerge from the effects o.f the depression. —I am, etc., ADVANCE.
