NOTABLE OCCASION

MARSDEN OLD GIRLS

REUNION FESTIVITIES

. Old girls of Marsden College who have come from all parts of New Zealand to attend the annual reunion festivities, entertained the present pupils at a delightful party in the school hall on Saturday evening. A short programme of brightly produced ballets, sketches, and music was given first and found an enthusiastic audience. "The Blue Danube" ballet was danced by Misses Nancy Beere, Nancy Bluudell, Moya Hempton, Betty McParland, Betty Reading, and Margaret Salmond, with Miss Mavis Giddings as soloist. They wore blue satin tunics with capes edged with white fur over fully flounced white skirts. Blue muffs edged with white fur and banded with cerise, cerise velvet caps, and Russian boots edged with fur made charming ensembles. A comedy sketch acted by Misses Alison Purdy, Nellie Donovan, and Mrs. Pope.caused much merriment. Dressed in a picture frock of deep apricot, frilled net over satin, Miss Zena Holden gave a graceful solo dance. A fantasy, "English Idioms," read by Miss Annette Harcourt, was amusingly interpreted by Misses Nancy Beerc, Joyce Porter, Agnes Pope, and Margaret Salmond. A spirited Coster. Ballet, froeked in the customary feathers and pearlies, brought the programme to a bright conclusion. . Those taking part were Misses Norah Tipping, Margaret Salmond, Alison Purdy, Mildred Boyd-Wilson, Kuth Townley, Mily Markman, Molly Brown, and Mrs. Pope.
