VISITING VIOLINIST

MRS. ANDERSEN TYRER

The wife of Mr. Andersen Tyrer, the well-known Trinity College examiner, Mrs. Andersen Tyrer, is herself an accomplished violinist, and in conversation with an "Evening Post" representative this morning she had much of interest to say about famous personalities with whom she had come in contact.

She was a personal friend of Marie Corelli, and tho famous novelist had always taken a groat interest in Mrs. Tyrer's musical career, and had presented her with a wonderful Cornelius violin, the instrument having previously belonged to Miss Corelli's poet stepbrother, Eric Maekay. Mrs._ Tyrer possesses another old Italian instrument, which she greatly .treasures. On three occasions, receptions have been given for Mrs. Tyrer at No. 10 Downing Street, and she is a personal friend of "Mr. Lloyd George. "In fact, I am partly Welsh too," said Mrs.

Tyrer. . Mr. acd Mrs. Tyrer have together given recitals in many countries, and Mrs. Tyrer's studies took her to Germany and France. In France she was a pupil of Emil Saurct. Sinco her debut in London eight years ago, she has performed at tho Albert Hall and tho Queen's Hall, London, and South Africa, India, Australia, and most of Europo have bceu included in her tours.

Mr. and Mrs. Tyrer arc also friends of Dumc Sybil Thorndikc, who herself made many friends in Now Zealand during her recent tour. Mr. and Mrs. Tyrcr, who have been in JN'e.w Zealand since; July, will return to England in about sis. oi jevea weeks.
