PIGS AND POULTRY.
The Dominion Auctioneering Company, Palmerston North, reports au extras heavy yarding of pigs and a large yarding of poultry at their mart sales on Saturday. For good quality pigs the prices were practically the same as those realised for the previous week. Realisations were: — Pigs: Weaners, small 12a 6d to 15s 6d, good quality to 225; slips, to 245; stores, to 29s- 6d; porkers, 27s to 34s 6d; baconers, 41s. There.was a sharp rise in the prices of poultry, which were as follows: —Turkey gobblers, 9s 6d each; ducks, 4s Od to 5s 4d per pair; white hens, 5s to Cs 2d; heavy hens, up to 7s 2d; cockerels, 5s 4d up to 0s 8d; two weeks old, 3s 6d to 4s 6d per dozen; hens and chicks. 11s, 12s 6d, 13s Cd each; broody hens, 5s 9d to 6s 6d.
Also: Two fat lambs, at IGs (id; ewes, 17s 0d:
