HUTT VALLEY CLUB
A record attendance was present at the annual meeting of the Hutt "Valley Club. Mr. A. Marshall presided over an enthusiastic gathering. The club enjoyed a successful season last year, and tho indications are that an even better result will be achieved this sea» son. Several new members have joined, and with a solid committee to control the affairs of the club interest will be well maintained and competitors provided with plenty of competition. The experiment carried'out last year of inviting town clubs to meet in friendly contests proved highly satisfactory, and the same procedure will be followed again. During the recess the committee was active in the welfare of members, and as a result a fine club room is now available to members. This asset will no doubt be fully appreciated, and is sure to be well patronised during the year. It will also be an added attraction to: the proposed visits from town clubs. The opening function will take place shortly and will comprise a small series of races open to town swimmers, as well as club members. A social gathering is to follow. Tho j>rospects for an excellent season appear bright for this popular club.
