PATTY'S FIND
(Original.) One Saturday morning Patty said to her mother, "Where are all the wonderful caves you talk about?" "Oh, you don't want to sec them," said her mother. •'Walking quietly away, Patty headed for a cave which she had often looked at before. Bravely she mounted a small stone stairway, though shaking with fear. Peering this way and thai, she spotted a long passage, in which she saw a little boy crying, "I wish I could gel out, and go back to my home!" Seeing the pitiful child, Patty crept in and carried him out of the slimy cave. Putting down her heavy bundle, she said, "Who are you, and how did you get in-, the eave'^" "I was caught by pirates and I am. Peter Thomas Smith,'' answered tho little boy. There was uo. more said, while Patty returned home with the child. Stooping breathlessly, Patty's mother said, "Oh, it's your little cousin who was caught by pirates!'.' Great happiness was wrought in both homes, and Patty was given. a golden ring for finding Peter. "SUNSHINE PRINCESS" (10). Masterton.
