BRUTAL ASSAULT
ILL-TREATED HIS MOTHER
(By Telegraph.—Press Association.) DUNEDIN, This Day. For what was described by the Magistrate as a blackguardly and brutal assault upon ins mother,* Egbert Sainsbury Shore, aged 36 years, was sentenced to six weeks' imprisonment. The police described tho accused as a loafer. He went homo under the influence of liquor, pushed his mother about, broke her spectacles, and brandished a carving knife, threatening to cut her throat. '
