COLOURED MAN IN LONDON
LEFT KNIFE ON LEDGE
LONDON, October 26. Scotland Yard is investigating the mystery of a coloured man seen at night-time recently on the roof of a house occupied by Viscount Batondone, heir to the Viceroy of India, the Earl of Willingdon, in Victoria Square, London. A knife was found on the window-ledge. Tho police say there is no suggestion of a plot against Viscount Batendone. An Australian, Miss Dorota Flatau, who resides in the flat next door, declares that she heard a noiso outside, and turned on the light. She saw a dark figure, and heard a voice: "Quiet, or I shoot." Miss Flatau, astounded, hurled a heavy flowerpot at tho intruder which struck him on the chest. The man threw a brick at her and escaped over the roof into,tho garden. Lord Ratendonb was dining out that night. When he returned ho discovered the police searching the premises. Ho is leaving fur India on October 30. Lord Batonclonc, who was born in 18!)!), is the only surviving son of tho ! Earl of Willingdou.
