STRATOSPHERE BALLOON

MOSCOW, September 30. The stratosphere balloon "U.5.5.K.," piloted by George Propokiev and two companions, reached a height of 20,266 yards, beating Professor Piccard's record established in August, 1932.

' The balloon, whjch was visible from Moscow, finally landed at Kolomensky, seventy miles from Moscow, after 377 minutes. It is claimed the instruments recorded 19,000 metres, approximately 11 7-8 miles. .
