AGAINST NANKING

FANG CHEN WU'S REVOLT

NOT AGAINST JAPANESE

SHANGHAI, September 27. Fighting occurred yesterday twentyfivo miles from Peking, when Fang Chen Wu'3 cavalry sought to enter Kaoliying.. They encountered Government troops, and were defeated. Newspapers report that the Japanese actually commenced bombing beforo tho expiry of their ultimatum, inflicting sevoro casualties on Fang Chen Wu's troops. Today the demilitarised zone was reported ominously, quiet. It is believed Fang Chen Wu's troops will be allowed to march towards tho armistice line,- where they will bo disarmed by Government troops and a small payment made for each rifle. Tang Chen Wu's revolt is definitely anti-Government and not anti-Japanese.
