WELLESLEY CLUB WIN

POOR SCORING

One of those beautiful, almost windless days when good scoring seldom is shown was thoroughly enjoyed $by the large field in the Lauchlan Golf Cup played on handicap at Miramar yesterday afternoon between teams of four from the social clubs of Wellington. Every year this contest sees a bigger entry, and there is no doubt that it is one of the most popular events in the golfing calendar. The Miramar links were in excellent condition for the contest, which was got off well to time.

This is the fourth time the cup has been played for. On the first occasion Central were the winners, then Wellesley, and then- Central. Wellesley were the victors for the second time. yesterday, with the score of 306 by its A team. The lowest net individual score was returned by A. Lulham (Miramar Club) for the Central A. team, followed by 71 by F. E. Stubberfield (Shandon) for ,Civil Service A, and 72 by H. R. Sellers (Miramar) for Wellesley A, and D. F. Moncur (Wellington) for'Wellesley B. The following are the scores of the teams:—
