At a meeting of the New Zealand Lifesaving Council an application was received from Aucklapd, the head. centre, for, the award of the distinguished service medal of 'the society to K. C Reid, of Auckland. The letter stated ' that Keid had been directly' responsible for the gaining of 2500 awards by his pupils in recent years, and had established. 186 training centres in.-the Aucldand district.
