UNEMPLOYED WOMEN

MITTEE
The Minister of Employment (the Hon. A. Hamilton) announced today that the Unemployment Board had decided to again set up an Advisory and Investigation Women's .-..Committee,' which will .co-operate with tho board in dealing with' unemployment amongst ■women. At the present tim© there are local women's committees in the following centres:; —Auckland, Wellington, Christehnrehy Dunedin, Invorcargill, Timaru, New Brighton, Lyttelton, Nelson, Hastings, Napier, and Palmerston North. ■
The committee now appointed comprises Miss B. E. Carnachan, Mrs. Marshall Macdonald, and Mrs. M. J. Fordo, and they held a preliminary meeting in "Wellington yesterday. It .will bo their duty to visit different centres for the purposo of consulting with and advising local committees and to report their various findings to the board. The committee has not been appointed for a definite period, but will be available, to assist and advise tho board from time to time as to the various ways by which unemployed women can tie assisted.
