STANDARD OF LIVING

BEARING ON WHEAT QUESTION

(Received August 26, 2.45 p.m.) SASKATOON, August 25. Mr. Frank Eliason, secretary of th* United Farmers of Canada and tha United States, regarding the wheat quota, says that any atempt to reduco production to the world's present lowliving standard would be fundamentally and morally unsound. "If thosa attending world cdnferences would confine themselves to setting up a planned economy and arranging for distribution so as to place sufficient purchasing power in the hands of the people, thus making for a decent standard of living! there would be no need of a quota."
