Archbishop Averill, Auckland, and Mrs. Averill, who have been the guests of Bishop and Mrs. Sprott at Bishopscourt, returned home last evening. Mrs. Gordon Forbes, Lower Hutt, will leave Wellington on Thursday next for Sydney, with her husband, Lieut.-Colouel Forbes. Miss Marjorie Curlett, who has been spending some days iv Wellington, returned to Hastings yesterday. Bishop West-Watson, Christchurch, and Mrs. West' Watson, who were the guests of Dr.. and Mrs. AY. Young, The Terrace, returned south last evening. Miss Hilda Williams, who has been spending a few weeks in the North Island, will return to Christchurch next week, and will stay at Warwick House. Mr. and Mrs. W. Murie, Seatoun, left by the Marama for Auckland, and will visit Helensvillo shortly. Miss Audrey Ostler arrived in Wellington yesterday from Duuedin .to spend the holidays with her parents, Mr. Justice and Mrs. Ostler, Talavera Terrace. The Bishop of Waikato and Mrs. Cherrington, who have been the guests of Mr. and Mrs. Henry Hall, Hill Street, have returned home. The Bishop of Waiapu,' who was the guest of Canon and Mrs. PeTcival James, and the Bishop of Dunedin,1 who was the guest of Mi. and Mrs. A. de B. Brandon, have also left ■ Wellington. Bishop Sadlier has returned to Nelson. Miss Esther Denniston, Lower Hutt, who is staying' with her aunt, Mrs. A. E. Flower, Christchurch, will -leave on Wednesday for Duiiedin. Mrs.' Hugh Trevor, Wanganui, is the guest of her brother and sister-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Denys Hoare, Christchurch. Miss D. Howe, Island Bay, is the guest-of Mr. and, Mrs. W. Worsley, Islington, Christchurch. Mr. and Mrs. H. K. Gray, Wellington,, are visiting Timaru. Miss J. P. Warnock has returned to Lower Hutt, after spending a holiday in Marton and Wangauui districts. Mrs. Plowden Wardlaw, Christchurch, will arrive next week to visit the North Island. Mrs. 11. S. Powell, Levin, is at pre' sent staying with friends in Wellington. ■ ■ . Mrs. John Campbell, Wellington, has left for a visit to Auckland and Tauranga. Mr. and Mrs. J. Morgan are Wellington visitors to Auckland. ' Miss Kay Muir, of Wanganui, is at present spending a holiday at the Hermitage, Mount Cook.; . r Mrs. W. J. Webb, ...Christchurch-,: is among the guests at' the Hotel St. George. Miss M. Nation, Auckland, is visiting Wellington, and is staying at the Grand Hotel. Miss. Mary Hursthousc, who has been studying philology and French literature at the Sorbonne, in Paris, left Toulon yesterday by the Ormonde, and will arrive in Wellington on October 2. Miss Katrine Hursthouse, who has been staying with Miss Joan Ostler, Tiirangi, Lake Taupo, will return to Wellington tomorrow. Mrs. C. W. Charleswortli and Miss Peggy Charleswortli, Goldie's Brae, and Miss 'Elaine Webb are staying at the "Capitol," Otaki, for the holidays. A monster children's "Coster and Fancy Dress" Party will be held in tho Mayfair Cabaret on Monday night, commencing at 6.30. The arrangements are in the hands of Madame Eugenic Dennis, and there will be a "Punch and Judy" show, "Charlie the Clown," and "Uncle Toby." Prizes will be awarded for coster and fancy dress costumes, and there will ■be dances, games, supper, and a good band. The proceeds are in aid of the Fielden Taylor Fair.
