METHODIST CHAMPIONSHIP
The Methodist Club' held its championship race over a four-milo course at Ngaio last Saturday. Although results generally were as forecast, there wore one or two surprises, as well as some disappointments. It was anticipated that Tliorlcy or Aleorn would gain the formost position, but it was not expected that Ingram would hold his own so well against these men. His run-in two seconds after Thorley, to gain second place, was very creditable. With careful training and by conserving his energy he should develop into one of tho most formidable runners in the club. Thorley's time was 25 minutes. Revan and C. Thomson put. up good times, and together with Johnson and J. Thomson are promising well, and are the nucleus of a strong junior group. Alley's performance was disappointing, and it is clear that he is not showing the form displayed at the beginning of the season. Mackie was unable to run owing to sickness.
