A Press Association cable front Ottawa today announces the death of' Senator Gideon Bobertson, a former; Minister of Labour in the Bennett Gov-j ernment, following a stroke a fort-i night ago. The Eev. C. E. Boggis was a passeuf; ger by the Rangatira last evening for* Christehureh. He will conduct a three, weeks' mission at the Linwood Baptist Church, commencing tomorrow. E» Mason, and J. B. Grant (Auckland). Mr. and Mrs. W. Nicholls (Christ-, church), Messrs. G. Williams (Palmerston North), L. Short (Wauganui), A.: Nation (Auckland), and B. H. Couch-j man (New Plymouth). are staying at the Grand Hotel. Staying at the Hotel St. George are Air and Mrs. C. A. Summers, Messrs. G. Rockfort (Hastings), L. W. Swan, M. A.' Scott, and E. R. Boucher (Auck-, land), A. V. Fwdrill (Napier), E.. Turnbull (Melbourne), and T. Chapman (Christehureh). Messrs. E. H. Glendinning and B. G. Signal (Wairoa) are among the guests at the Royal Oak Hotel. Visitors to Wellington staying at the Empire Hotel include Messrs. F. V. Hodgkinson (Christehureh), F. A. King: (Melbourne), J. Smith (Auckland), B. Brown (Taranaki), and C. Cameron and ' T. Winks (Hawera). .
