In both sp.clk Wellington were, superior, and though they led 1-0 at half-time, they appeared to be more than one goal better than their oppom ents. In the second spell 'Auckland; were called on to defend for the greater part of the- time, and only occasionally, threatened the Wellington goal. Botff goals were scored by Gates.
