AUCKLAND BUILDING
(By telegraph.) , (Special to the "Evening Post.") : 'AUCKLAND, August 25. The estimated cost of work proposed under(the, applications in Auckland for the Unemployment Board's building subsidy has ■ now reached almost' £300,000. This week an additional 63 applications were received, bringing the number lodged in Auckland' to 694, and tho total estimated cost to '£293,331. The bulk of tho works for which application waa made during the past •week comprised small dwellings or additions and alterations to existing buildings, ths average cost being under £190. Of the total amount of £293,331 it is estimated that labour costs will absorb '£,9.5,758, and the amount to be paid in subsidy will be approximately £35,090.. '■■. • . .'■•■■■,
