LOCAL CHAMPIONSHIPS
The pick of amateur boxers will be seen in action at the Wellington, senior boxing chamj>ionship meeting, which will open at the Winter Show Stadium next Monday and Tuesday. The junior events of last week brought to light some promising talent, and a few junior winners will be entered in the senior classes, but for the most part the senior boys are those who have been trained for months with one object in view, i.e., putting their very best endeavour into their contest and winning the title in their particular class. Winners will make up the Wellington team for the- New Zealand championships, which arc to be held, in Blenheim next month, and the winners of the New Zealand titles in their turn stand a good change of being picked to go to Australia, when that event is ■finally decided npon. The seating accommodation at the stadium is such that all spectators arc able, to obtain an excellent view, of the ring, and the admission charges' are very reasonable!
