FIRST SPRING MEETING

(Special from "Early Bird.") AUCKLAND, This Day. Conditions promise to be satisfactory for the Auckland Trotting Club's First Spring Meeting at Alexandra Park to--1 morrow. The fields for the main part are i good for so eai-ly in the season. There are only five in the principal event, the August Handicap, but every ; horse has a, chance and the betting will ! bo brisk among four at least of them. , Kewpie's Triumph has at last come into his own, and it is likely that he will be the hardest- horse to boat- in both this ■ and the sprint, the Masscy.-. -Memorial Handicap. Prince Pedro is another horse ; fancied for the double, and this pair will | be heavily supported. ■ 1 In the minor events favoured candidates 1 are Mountain Sun, Red Hope, Silver Bingen, and Manco.'
