GUARD ON IRINI

RENEWED AT AUCKLAND

(By Telegraph.—Press Association.) AUCKLAND, August 24. The Grcelc oil tanker Irini, with a part cargo of Russian petrol, arrived today and immediately on berthing she was boarded by a party of detectives and police. Persons who usually hoard vessels on arrival were not allowed near' her; the only ones allowed past the barrier were those with a pass endorsed by the company to which the petrol is consigned. A representative of the company said there was good reason for refusing admittance, but he was not able to disclose it. The police, some of whom were still aboard this afternoon, also said they did not know. It is understood, however, that tho police went aboard as a guard and not as a search party.
