MISSION QUEEN

PARTY AT CABARET

An enjoyable time was spent at the Mayfair Cabaret last evening, when a dance and card party were held in aid of the Mission Queen candidate, Miss Miriama Heketa. The larger ballroom was utilised, and tables were placed round the dance floor, and in the lounge for card playera. A buffet supper was served in the Italian room. Tho "Highatters" provided excellent music, and appropriately played some Maori tunes. Early in the evening Mr. K. Small (secretary) introduced Miss Heketa, who wore a distinctive frock of orange wool lace, with dainty floral trimming, and a white ermine-cloth bridge coat. Among those present wero M'esdames •T. Sheedy (who wore black crepo satin), Fielden- Taylor (black satin with floral bridge coat), Cole (wine elephant crepe), Lawton (red ling velvet), Heketa (black satin), Smith (black georgette), A. L. Francis, Clarke (brown marocain); Misses Usher (black lace), Milner, Francis, TJcmmers, Meeehan, Parkes (2), Downes, Kuru, Leek, MacDonell, Nelson, Cole, and Honghton; and Messrs. Young, Lowe, Clarke, Trail, Bailey, W. Low, B. Park, Paitai, Parkes (2), I Downes, McKenna, and D. M. Burns.

The "Monte Carlo" dance was won by Miss M. Francis and Mr. L. Young.
