CHAMPIONSHIP BILLIARDS
The Wellington inter-club provincial billiards championship begins, on Monday, July 17, at Messrs. Billiards, Ltd.'s showrooms. The total entries received being the highest-for at least eight years intense interest is being , evinced, and much attention will be ' drawn to the several ■ new players attempting a championship title for1 the first, time. Recent form by local contenders has been very even, and several substantial r breaksi ome exceeding 200, have 'lately :i been registered by certain contenders prominent last year. The championship will open on Monday with E. Petersen (Cairo Club) drawn against W.-'G. Fitzgerald (St.. Pat's Old Boys' Association). The ..second- game will be between D. Rosenbaum (V.M.C.A.).. and A. Freeman (R.S.A.). Others drawn in the first and second round are:—P.1 G. Devine (Petone; Working Men's.Club)• v. C. B. Eversleigh (Cairo Club); V. A.
