(By Telegraph.—Press Association.)
AUCKLAND^ This Day. -Following a report by the chief traffic inspector^ tho City Council last night decided that motorists of advanced years, when . applying for renewals of driving licences, may be required to pass a suitable test if the inspector considers.it; necessary. Tho inspector said that some old motorists were careful and efficient, but there might be others'who developed disabilities that were not evident which rendered them physically unfit. As a safeguard it appeared necessary, that after say 65 years applicants should be subject to a'driving'test before their licenco was renewed.
