RELIEF AT LOWER HUTT

The funds of the Lower Hutt' Belief Committee -were augmented by £18 as a result of a lantern,lecture, "Beautiful Venice," delivered by Mr. Theo Queree in the De Luxe Theatre, Lower Hutt^ on Sunday afternoon. The theatre was ■well filled by a highly appreciative audience, presided over by the Mayor (Mr. J. "W. Andrews) who thanked Mr. Queree, and his assisting artists, Mrs. Wilfred Andrews, Messrs. E. Glading, and Tony Wood, and the Hutt Valley High School Orchestra. He thanked also Mis. M. Upton who had organised the entertainment, the theatTe , proprietors, who had given the use of Ihe' building free, and all othjers who had worked for the success of the occasion. • The whole of the proceeds went to the Relief Committee, the expenses all being met by private individuals.
