ilr. P. Eraser, M.P.,. was the first on the scene, and Sealt with various civic subjects, relief works rate of pay, and wet weather clauses in particular. Mr. E. A. Wright,-M.P.,'was a member of the audience, and when Mr. Fraser stepped down he took his place, covering several of the subjects dis•liscd by Mr. Tauut from another •ngle.
When Mr. Wright k*£ spoken a member of the Communist <\*»*ty held the iort pending the arrival \\X the Communist candidate, Mr. £, £V Webb, who
had much to say of official Labour— so much, in fact, that Mr. Fraser was impelled to take another turn, and was every bit as-forcible in what he had to say in reply. Unfortunately there will bo no further opportunity for the candidates to address another pay-day gathering, otherwise the fourth candidate, Mr. John Castle,, might join the party.
