VIENNA, June 25.
Bonfires blazing .on 1500 hills and mountain tops throughout Austria, those in" tho vicinity of the German frontier, illuminated with the words, "Hail Austria," and guns firing salutes constitutes part 'Of tonight's -great patriotic demonstration intended to show the Nazis that Austria cannot be intimidated.
"If we arc driven to it, he who takes life shall pay with life," .declared-Dr. Dollfuss, the Chancellor, indicating the possible introduction of the death penalty when addressing a crowd of 12,000. He- added, "We have restored faith in the Austrian Fatherland. People need not fear the future."
An aeroplane dropped leaflets over Linz prior to the speech of Dr. Dollfuss, containing a declaration by Herr Proksch, Austrian Nazi leader, now hiding in Munich, threatening to deprive Dr. Dollfuss of power. Several more Nazi leaders 'have been arrested, including seven Deputies." One Nazi leader, Herr Frauenfeld, was arrested near the Italian . border" and brought back. , :
