MOTOR UNION'S APPROVAL

DUKKDIN, June 25.

The quarterly meeting of the South Island Motor Union ivas held here last night, Mr. F. AY. Johnston presiding ovei a full attendance of delegates. Remits mostly dealing with routine matters were considered, and the following remit bjl the Otago Club was carried unanimously:— "That the union approves of the work of forming a road over the Haast Pass immediately, as this route will- form a necessary link between Otago and the West Const; and that as the work will provide suitable employment for a large number of men with a minimum outlay for material, the matter be taken up with the Unemployment Board with a view to an early commencement of the work."
