MAJOR GOODSELL'S PLANS

LOS ANGELES, March 28.

Major Goodsell, the University of California rowing coach, and former world's single sculls champion, said today that he would contest a race for tho title at Toronto, Canada, in the fall. His opponents will be Ted Phelps (Great Britain), the present champion; Bobby Pcaree, the 1932 Olympic champion; and Bert Barry (Great Britain), a former champion. Goodsell said that ho understood that the race would bo rowed over four miles, with threo turns, with 5000 dollars as the first prize. I>; would take place during tho Toronto Exhibition between August 30 and September 9. Goodsell said that ho would bring his trainer George Towns from Australia to prepare him for the test.
